Dr. Elana Poulter
Elana Y. Poulter, M.D., F.A.A.P.
General Pediatrics
Dr. Poulter joined us in October 2010. She graduated from both college and medical school at Columbia University in New York City. She then moved to Chicago, where she completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in 2008. Since 2008 she has remained at Children’s Memorial as an inpatient “hospitalist” pediatrician in the neonatal ICU, and also as a fellow in hematology-oncology. Dr. Poulter is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is available to see all patients.
Dr. Poulter is on-staff at Children’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital. As always, Dr.’s Poulter, Summers, Winterkorn and Lewin – along with our PNP’s Marnie, Tina, Jacky and Emily- work very closely together. Dr. Poulter shares our belief that in order to give quality care, a group practice needs to be more than individual providers sharing office space. Our goal instead is to be cohesive in practice and philosophy, so that when you see any one of us, you can be sure you’re getting the benefit of our collective expertise.
What is your favorite activity outside of the office?
When I am not at work, you will find me playing tennis, hiking and skiing with my family or out for long walks with my big yellow lab!
What is the most important factor in a provider-patient relationship and why?
I believe the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship is listening to each other with an open mind. I value the perspective of everyone in the exam room. Parents know their child better than anyone else!
